AND SO IT BEGINS...

So I just realized I obviously should have titled yesterday's post "One Day More." Oops.
Today was our first day of classes! We started with an orientation which was good because there are tons of schedule changes. All the teachers are working professionals outside of teaching, so they sometimes have conflicts. Because of that, my first class was Acting Technique instead of Dance. We didn't have much time though, so we just introduced ourselves. The teacher studied with Lee Strasberg which is soooo cool! She said that we'll be using "the Method" but she hates when people call it "the Method" because it is so personal and different for everyone. I'm really excited to have that class again tomorrow. Then we walked up to 54th Street for dance. It turns out the classes are held in the same building as a camp I went to in 7th grade. The class was really fun, and the actual dancing wasn't difficult. But I am totally out of shape and the warm-up kicked my butt! Then we went back to Circle for Singing Interpretation. The instructor said it's really more like a musical theatre audition technique class, which is awesome because I was worried I wouldn't learn enough of that before college auditions. Each person went and sang their two songs, and then told her what else was in their book and what other songs they wanted to do. I didn't go yet. I'll go on Wednesday. Everyone in my group so far has an amazing voice! Then we had Physical Acting...........which also kicked my butt a little. There was a lot of running. First we went over all the rules and expectations, which took a while. The teacher is awesome though! We have it first thing tomorrow too (by "we," I mean my entire group). The last class was Speech. Again, we only had time for introductions. But just the intros were so much fun! I'm so excited for this class. I just really love talking, I guess. Haha. Also, I know I have terrible diction (on purpose, kinda) and probably a regional accent. So yeah, that needs to get fixed.
Goodbye until tomorrow! Maybe. I make no promises.
Also, I apologize for the terrible quality of the pictures. I was only updating from my phone and didn't see them up close until just now!
